Liposuction
Liposuction removes stubborn fat deposits and refines the body contour. Discover the procedure, recovery, and when a combination with skin tightening is recommended.
What is liposuction?
Liposuction is a surgical procedure in which localized fat deposits are removed to improve the contour of the body.
It is not a weight-loss procedure, but a treatment to correct stubborn fat zones that do not disappear with exercise or diet.
Liposuction can be applied to various areas of the body, such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, knees, arms, chin, and back.
The goal of liposuction is to contour the body more harmoniously and improve body proportions.

procedure
How does liposuction work?
During liposuction, fat is removed via fine cannulas inserted under the skin through small incisions, with the aim of specifically correcting localized fat deposits and refining the body contour.
Safety
Liposuction is usually performed under general anesthesia, depending on the areas being treated.
The fat is removed carefully and in a controlled manner, with respect for the surrounding structures, so that a natural and balanced result is achieved.
The incisions are usually a few millimeters in size and generally heal very discreetly.
Results
Liposuction can provide a slimmer and more defined body contour, with a better proportion between different zones.
The goal of the procedure is a natural result where the treated areas blend harmoniously with the rest of the body.
The removed fat cells do not return, but a stable weight remains important to maintain the result in the long term.
Aftercare
After the procedure, temporary swelling of the treated areas, skin sensitivity, and slight bruising may occur.
In addition, compression garments are usually worn for four to six weeks to support the contouring process.
In some patients, there is also reduced skin elasticity in addition to fat accumulation. In that case, liposuction can be combined with plasma-assisted skin tightening to further firm the skin.
Frequently asked questions
Your questions about liposuction answered
Is liposuction a weight-loss procedure?
No. Liposuction is not a treatment for weight loss, but for correcting localized fat deposits. For an optimal result, a stable weight is important.
For which areas is liposuction suitable?
Liposuction can be applied to various areas such as the abdomen, flanks, thighs, knees, arms, back, and chin.
What is the recovery like after liposuction?
After the procedure, temporary swelling, skin sensitivity, and slight bruising may occur. Usually, compression garments are worn for four to six weeks. Light activities can often be resumed after a few days.
Will the scars remain visible?
The incisions are usually only a few millimeters in size and are placed so that they heal discreetly. Over time, they usually become barely noticeable.
Can fat return after liposuction?
The removed fat cells do not return. In the event of weight gain, the remaining fat cells can increase in size. A stable weight and a healthy lifestyle help to maintain the results in the long term.
When will I see the result?
The body contour becomes gradually visible as the swelling subsides. The final result can usually only be properly assessed after several months.
Can liposuction be combined with skin tightening?
Yes. In cases of reduced skin elasticity, liposuction can be combined with plasma-assisted skin tightening, also known as Renuvion® or J-Plasma. This technique can help the skin to contract further after liposuction.
Can liposuction be combined with other procedures?
Yes. Liposuction is often combined with other treatments, such as abdominoplasty, thigh lift, arm lift, or lipofilling. During the consultation, we will determine which combination is most suitable for your body contour.
