What a procedure does not do is improve the quality of the skin itself or influence the way a scar matures. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A regenerative aftercare program combines treatments that do address these factors: autologous platelets, microneedling, and targeted skincare, utilized in the months following a facelift, eyelid surgery, or a breast or body procedure.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This program is supplementary and entirely optional.<\/strong> It does not replace standard postoperative follow-up, which is a standard part of the surgical process and is included therein.<\/p>\n\n<h2 id=\"hoe-werkt-het\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does it work?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A scar undergoes a healing process that takes approximately one year. During the proliferative phase, more collagen is produced than is ultimately necessary and is initially deposited in a chaotic manner. This makes a scar temporarily red, firm, and sometimes raised. During the remodeling phase, this excess is reduced and reorganized.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regenerative treatments intervene in this process. Growth factors from your own platelets support a more organized recovery, while microneedling stimulates tissue restructuring. In practice, this is usually several weeks after the procedure, and sometimes later. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program is customized and typically consists of a series of sessions over several months, with treatments tailored to the stage of scar maturation. Any break in the skin leaves a scar. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It does not correct a surgical result and does not replace a revision surgery when one is indicated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It does not speed up wound healing; it supports the quality of it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It does not replace basic measures: scar massage, silicone, sun protection, and not smoking remain the most important factors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 id=\"veiligheid\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safety<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same contraindications apply as for the individual treatments: pregnancy and breastfeeding, an active infection in the area, coagulation disorders, a severely reduced platelet count, active autoimmune disease, and cancer under active treatment. At each appointment, wound healing is assessed before treatment is administered. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result varies from person to person.
