Biostimulators are injectable products that are not primarily intended to occupy space, but to trigger a reaction from the body. The best-known examples are poly-L-lactic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite. Both substances have long been used in medicine and are biodegradable. <\/p>\n\n

The distinction from a classic filler is fundamental. A filler provides volume because the gel itself occupies space. A biostimulator provides firmness over time because the body creates new supporting tissue around the injected material. The visible result therefore consists of the body’s own collagen. <\/p>\n\n

How does it work?<\/h2>\n\n

After injection into the deeper layers of the skin or the subcutaneous tissue, the product triggers a controlled, mild tissue reaction. Fibroblasts are activated and begin to produce new collagen around the particles. <\/p>\n\n

As the product is broken down, the newly formed collagen network takes over. The skin becomes thicker, firmer, and more resilient, and the face appears fuller without any gel remaining. <\/p>\n\n

What happens during a session?<\/h2>\n\n

During the consultation, the skin and tissue are assessed, medical history and medication are discussed, and expectations are evaluated, with particular attention to the timeline of the results. A reflection period is provided. <\/p>\n\n

On the day itself, the product is prepared according to instructions, which requires preparation time for certain biostimulators. The skin is disinfected, and usually, an anesthetic cream or local anesthesia is used.
